Hi, welcome to my UX portfolio!

Please scroll down to learn about me.

Thanks for stopping by my portfolio!
I’m Sally Steele, and I’m passionate about crafting amazing user experiences through in-depth research and with great design and copy. I enjoy my design work but also absolutely love the process of learning about users and shaping product design through hands-on research.
Bio
I studied English linguistics, usage, and copyediting at Brigham Young University for several years, until I decided I didn't want to be an editor for the rest of my life. I knew it was time to move on when I cringed at the idea of working at a desk stacked with manuscripts, red pen in hand, looking for errors late into the night.
I moved on to Weber State University when my interests turned to business and art. After earning my associate's degree and further refining my program of study to business and multimedia technologies, I described my new major as studying all the "fun programs” I’d always wanted to learn. I'd go on to list several Adobe programs and then enjoyed watching the diverse reactions I'd elicit with my idea of fun. These days, while working in administrative and customer service positions, I’ve continued work towards my bachelor’s degree in Design for User Experience through Lesley University online. I’ve developed skills in many areas of UX: conducting user research, creating empathy and customer journey maps, developing personas, sketching and storyboarding, and creating prototypes and mockups in both low and high fidelity. The more I've come to learn about UX, the more I've discovered that UX research and design meet at the perfect confluence of my interests and skills.

I started my own editing business in 2010 and edited the manuscript for a now-published book on personal finance.
